Drug and Alcohol Counselor - Keenan House

Treatment Trends, Inc is seeking a FT Addictions Counselor at the Keenan House. We are an inpatient drug and alcohol program located in Allentown, PA.

Responsibilities of the counselor are the following:

  • Provide individual/group therapy and document appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Provide family therapy when found to be appropriate
  • Complete initial assessments and assessments as needed throughout the clients stay.
  • Develop treatment plans for clients to meet their needs of treatment through out their time in treatment.
  • Be a liaison between referral sources and the client
  • Access each client for appropriate referrals/aftercare
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • 1 year experience in substance abuse counseling
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Mental Health or Social Work required
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work preferred
  • CADC a plus

Drug and Alcohol Counselor - Halfway Home of the Lehigh Valley

The Halfway Home of the Lehigh Valley has an immediate opening for a full time residential drug and alcohol treatment counselor to join our multidisciplinary team.  Applicant must meet DOH DDAP Licensing Standards for the position of counselor, CADC and experience with co-occurring populations preferred.  Knowledge of approaches to trauma informed care and Veteran needs helpful. 

Schedule consists of three days 8-4pm, two days 1-9pm and one Sunday every 5 weeks 8-4pm. Responsibility for 8-10 clients including individual counseling, care authorization and case management duties, as well as facilitating 3-4 groups per week.

Educational requirement: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline such as Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, etc.

Job requirements:

  • Tolerate stressful situations.
  • Ability to adjust to increased workload.
  • Able to work independently as well as ability to work well with team.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, legal entities, and others to help support clients in their recovery.
  • Facilitation of process and psychoeducational group counseling sessions on a weekly basis as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Networking with various client systems including families, court members, probation officers, and social service representatives.
