Mindful Monday

Goal: Build internal insight, distress tolerance, and grounding skills. 

​

Starting of the week with emphasis on emotional awareness & self-regulation, each week our residential will engage in education and exercises that explore their emotional wellness and understanding. This includes:

  • Intro to Mindfulness & the Brain in Recovery

  • Identifying and Labeling Emotions

  • Coping Skills Toolbox

  • Conflict De-escalation and Emotional Triggers

  • Grounding and Breathwork Techniques

  • Mindful Communication and Assertiveness

Transformation Tuesday

Goal: Reflect on identity, goals and vision for change.

Each Tuesday, our residents engage in self-reflection, with emphasis on moving forward. Exploring their negative thoughts, feelings and emotions, while identifying the barriers these can pose to the future they desire for themselves. This includes:

  • Who Am I Without Substances?

  • Life Story & Turning Points

  • Setting SMART Recovery Goals

  • Managing Shame & Guilt

  • Creating a Recovery Identity

  • Preparing or Transformation

Wellness Wednesday

Goal: Focus on whole-body wellness and sustainability.

As we approach the middle of the week, we take time to focus on health, nutrition and stability, each week our residential will engage in education and exercises that explore their overall wellness. This includes:

  • Nutrition in Recovery

  • Sleep Hygiene and Physical Health

  • Stress Management Without Substances

  • Exercise & Movement Therapy

  • Medication & Mental Health

  • Wellness Planning for Reentry

Thankful Thursday

Goal: Improve interpersonal awareness and connection.

Getting closer to the end of the week, residents are asked to turn their focus outward. Looking more critically at their relationships and their current status, as well as how they can navigate the challenges of repairing and rebuilding their support network in recovery. This includes:

  • Practicing Gratitude in Recovery

  • Repairing Relationships and Letter Writing

  • Rebuilding Trust with Supports

  • Self-Apologies & Amends

  • Boundaries & Healthy Relationships

  • Family Reunification Planning

Fun Friday

Goal: Learn how to have sober fun and build sober supports

​

Each Friday, our residents get to let their hair down and focus on what fun looks like for them in recovery. Engaging in perhaps some of their current hobbies, as well as exploring new ones, as they navigate a shift in their way of life to support ongoing wellness and recovery. This includes:

  • Healthy Hobbies & Recovery Fun

  • Sober Game Day & Team Building

  • Art Therapy or Music in Recovery

  • Laughter Yoga and Comedy Group

  • Building a Joy List and Self-Care Bingo

  • Celebration of Milestones & Accomplishments

Supportive Saturday

Goal: Build community, practice skills for independence.

 

Over the weekend our residents are asked to identify the ways in which they can improve upon their sense of community, while also enhancing their independent living skills. Focusing on the balance of the two, and when to ask for help, as well as the resources that can help to address those concerns. This includes:

  • Peer Sharing Cycle

  • Job Readiness and Resume Workshop

  • Navigating Community Resources

  • Budgeting and Financial Recovery

  • Legal Education and Advocacy

  • Transitional Housing and Reentry Options

Serenity Sunday

Goal: Encourage introspection and spiritual growth (non-religious options included).

 

Closing out the weekend, each resident is asked to explore their personal beliefs and connection with their spirituality. They are exposed to different approaches and how this can be integrated meaningfully in their recovery process. This includes:

  • Guided Meditation and Letting Go

  • Journaling: What Recovery Means to Me

  • Spirituality vs. Religion in Recovery

  • 12-Step and Moral Inventory Reflection

  • Forgiveness and Healing

  • Quiet Reflection and Gratitude Circle
